TRADITION This singing and dancing group was founded in August 1975 as a side activity of a Scout group, under the direction of its current general director, Luis González M. They perform regularly in folk clubs and venues both in Santiago and in other provinces. They give folk recitals of music from central and southern Chile, and also perform at various events. They participated as a guest group in the National Student Cueca Championship in 1983 and performed for extended periods in tourist restaurants in Santiago and Buin. They perform on radio and TV, as well as at charitable and international institutions. Such is the GRUPO TRADICION, currently dedicated to the research and dissemination of Chiloé folklore. Its director has even composed a Cantata of the Island, which we will present soon. STAR SOUND, the label that promotes our Folkloric Heritage, is pleased to present GRUPO TRADICION, which we are certain will garner your support in the challenging art of expressing the experiences of Chiloé.
