Toccata on Ellacombe (I Sing the Mighty Power of God), Arr. M. Thallander & B. Wilkin

Ellacombe is the name of the tune of "I Sing the Mighty Power of God." It was first published in a chapel hymnal for the Duke of Wurtemberg (Gesangbuch Der Herzogel) in 1784. And Ellacombe is the name of a village in Devonshire, England. The words were written by Isaac Watts (1674 -1748) in 1709. He was an English Christian minister, hymn writer, and logician. He is credited with some 750 hymns, so he is recognized as the "Godfather of English Hymnody." Jung-A Lee studied at Yale University, Boston University, and Humboldt University in Berlin, Germany, and received her Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Boston University. And in addition to serving on the faculties of Vanguard University and Biola University she has given recitals in churches and concert halls all over the world including Italy, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Hungary, Slovakia, Canada, China, and South Korea. She currently serves as organist at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Newport Beach, California.
