Dinesh Karthik’s first marriage was no less than a controversy also saw a tragic ending. Dinesh Karthik’s first wife Nikita Vanjara was his childhood friend, their parents were also great friends. With the bond they shared, they decided to get hitched in 2007. However after 5 years into the marriage, Nikita started to lose interest in Karthik and the marriage seemed to be falling apart. Later, the reason came to light that Nikita had fallen for DK’s teammate, Murali Vijay who is also a popular cricketer. Karthik realised about this with time and things seemed evident to him when they were playing a crucial match of the Hazare Trophy. In 2012 he sought divorce from his wife. She was pregnant with their first child but agreed to it. The divorce was handled civilly by both sides. Post this Nikita married Murali Vijay and the couple have three children.
