The 36.3km long, 90m wide highway will have 16 lanes (10 main lanes, 6 parallel lanes), a design speed of 80km/h, and is expected to be substantially completed in 2027. The project aims to eliminate bottlenecks, reduce traffic congestion, flooding, and safety hazards at railway crossings, while increasing inter-regional connectivity and promoting socio-economic development in the southern gateway of the capital city according to the 100-year vision plan.
