Supreme Court rules states can bar transgender athletes from women's sports

The Supreme Court wrapped up its term Tuesday with a series of major rulings that handed President Donald Trump both significant victories and major setbacks before the justices began their summer recess. The court's final day included closely watched decisions on transgender athletes, birthright citizenship and campaign finance, prompting sharp reactions from Republicans. In one of the day's first major rulings, the court voted 6-3 that states can prohibit transgender athletes from competing on girls' and women's school sports teams.
