Estamos acá para buscar soluciones, no problemas”: Rodrigo Paz instala diálogo con la COB tras 48

#BreakingNews “We are here to find solutions, not problems”: Rodrigo Paz opens dialogue with the COB after 48 days of blockades President Rodrigo Paz opened a dialogue table this Wednesday between the Government and the Bolivian Workers' Central (COB) at the Central Bank of Bolivia, following 48 days of blockades that continue to affect various regions of the country. State ministers and the COB's executive secretary, Matías Argollo, are participating in the meeting, with the goal of reaching agreements and finding a way out of the conflict. DIALOGUE AND THE SEARCH FOR SOLUTIONS During his remarks, Paz thanked the social representatives, authorities, ministers, and the Attorney General for their presence, stating that the country needs to resolve its differences through dialogue. “We are here to find solutions, not problems,” he affirmed. DIVERSITY, DEMOCRACY, AND COEXISTENCE The president maintained that Bolivia is a diverse country, with different regions, cultures, and ways of thinking, and therefore emphasized the need for dialogue to build democratic coexistence. He stated that the foundation must be the Constitution, the concept of "living well," and respect among Bolivians. REJECTION OF PRIVATIZATION Paz denied that his government intends to privatize state-owned companies and asserted that mistrust has been generated on this issue. "The word 'privatize' never came from my mouth," he affirmed, explaining that his proposal aims to strengthen the state sector and open spaces for other sectors to develop. MINING, PRODUCTION, AND REVENUE FOR THE COUNTRY The president compared the economic activity of mining in countries like Peru and Chile with that of Bolivia, noting that the country has great wealth but generates less revenue. He indicated that the debate should not be ideological, but rather about how to generate more resources for Bolivian families, healthcare, and education. RECONCILIATION AND TRUST Paz stated that the days of conflict were difficult and that now it is time to look ahead. He proposed rebuilding trust among Bolivians and opening a space for reconciliation. “We cannot continue to distrust each other as Bolivians,” he declared. BLOCKADES AND PACIFICATION The president maintained that well-being is not achieved through blockades or by harming one another. He indicated that the path forward must be dialogue, pacification, and the search for agreements to guarantee employment, respect for the law, and solutions to demands. ENERGY SOVEREIGNTY Paz also addressed the country's energy situation and affirmed that Bolivia should have been the energy heart of the region. He pointed out that the country lost energy sovereignty and that now it must work to recover the capacity to produce diesel and gasoline and to once again utilize natural gas. FORMAL EMPLOYMENT AND THE ECONOMY The President indicated that one of the fundamental concerns is informal employment. He pointed out that a large part of the economy is currently informal and stated that the country must create conditions to expand formal employment and empower workers. RESPECT FOR THE CONSTITUTION AND THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE Paz assured that he will uphold the Constitution and the will of the people, as well as the constitutional mandate to engage in dialogue and seek solutions for all Bolivians. He indicated that the government arrived at the meeting with the cabinet and ready to discuss the fundamental issues. WORK PLAN FORWARD In closing, the president maintained that dialogue should serve not only to pacify the situation but also to build a shared vision for the country. He stated that the objective is to agree on a work plan that will allow for increased production, generate investment, industry, and employment, and address the needs of the most affected sectors. #dtv #bolivia #lapaz #live #national #redgigavision #oruro #beni #latest
