Lockdown Half Guard, Part 4: Getting to Your Side

Follow Cheat Code Jiu Jitsu on social media:   / cheat-code-jiu-jitsu-2479604595490997     / cheatcodejj   A common complaint I hear from people who don't play the Lockdown game is that they feel Lockdown bolts their back down to the mat and keeps them flat. That's not entirely true if you know what you're doing, but you definitely need to know how to move properly if you are bolted down. In this video we will discuss some movements you can use to get off of your back and up on to your side. The Whip Up uses the superior clamping power of the Lockdown to move your opponent into a better place, and the Mini Shrimp is a super effective movement from a variety of guard positions. This is a multi-part video series covering the Lockdown position in extreme depth. If you're looking to level up your half guard game, make sure to watch the entire playlist!
