I Was Chasing a Podium I Didn’t Have the Pace For

Another wet race at Spa in Le Mans Ultimate, and this one ended up being our best finish of the week so far. We started P7 and managed to bring it home in P4, which feels like a really strong result considering how much of this week has been about simply learning how to drive in the rain. There was a moment where P3 looked possible, but that hope disappeared pretty quickly once it became clear the driver ahead had far more pace in these conditions. They were around two seconds faster, and at that point it was less about chasing the podium and more about keeping the race together. Compared to some of the other races this week, this one was actually fairly tame in the area we were racing. Not loads of chaos, not loads of drama, just a calmer race where the wet driving started to make a bit more sense. Honestly, that feels like the story of the week so far: the chaos of learning, followed by the calm of finally starting to understand. Best finish of the week, P4 in the rain, and another step forward at Spa.
