Escalante Petrified Forest State Park is located just minutes outside of the town of Escalante, Utah. The park is situated along the banks of a reservoir, offering plenty of opportunities for recreation on the water. The campground had 52 camp sites at the time of filming. There was running water, including flushing toilets, sinks and showers. The visitor center was selling cold drinks, ice and wood during our stay. Camping gives you easy access to petrified wood specimens, as well as a few trails.
