The Spirit Moves Excerpts (3rd Generation Savoy Lindy Hoppers)
This is a few excerpts of Mura Dehn's "The Spirit Moves" footage with name identifications added. These are not the only dancers we have identified in the footage, however by no means do we have complete identifications of the 1951 work, which was filmed over the winter of 1950-1951 in New York city. Featured dancers are: Thomas King, Esther Washington, Lee Moates, James "Ronnie" Hayes, "Tall" Teddy Brown, Jerry Lawrence, Jessyca Samuels, James "Blue" Outlaw, Sugar Sullivan, and Delma "Big Nick" Nicholson. Music was added by me. HUGE THANKS to Sugar Sullivan, Gloria Thompson, and Sonny Allen for helping review this work.
