Occupational Therapy and Assistive Devices to be Independent
After a stroke when you or your loved one has a weakened or paralyzed side, or you suffer from Parkinson's or other neurological disorders, arthritis, or other orthopedic problems, you can have independence and maintain your dignity. Any changes in your body habitus would benefit from an evaluation by an Occupational Therapist in addition to a Physical Therapist. Occupational Therapists can help you be independent with your Activities of Daily Living (ADL's) by assessing what DME (Durable Medical Equipment) you need to be successful. Have your health care provider send an order to your local Rehab center so you can learn what you need. It's all about remaining independent! In this video, you will learn about different assistive devices you can get from a DME company. If you like this video, let me know!
