#familynotonlytravel We invite you to a series of vlogs from our eight-day tour of Morocco's "Magical South." In this fourth and final installment, we'll take you to Morocco's most colorful, magical, and exotic city, undoubtedly Marrakesh. Known as the pearl of the south and the red city, it lies at the foot of the High Atlas Mountains. This place, full of bustling bazaars, lush gardens, impressive palaces, and mosques, delights at every turn. During the tour, we'll see, among other things, the 12th-century Koutoubia Mosque, the beautifully decorated Ben Youssef Madrasa (former Koranic school), and the Marrakesh Museum, housed in a typically Moroccan building. We'll also stroll through the narrow, cozy streets of the historic medina, with its colorful stalls filled with leather goods, oil lamps, carpets, ceramics, and spices. We'll shop at a Berber herb garden. We'll also spend an evening in the magical Djemaa el Fna Square, a riot of colors, oriental aromas wafting from ubiquitous eateries, and the ever-present Gnawa music, whose mesmerizing sounds will put you in a trance. We'll conclude our city tour with a visit to the famous Majorelle Garden, once owned by Yves Saint Laurent. This 9,000-square-meter botanical garden boasts exotic plant specimens from around the world, including magnificent cacti, yuccas, bougainvillea, palms, bamboo, and more.
