DIY 2 x 10 inch Subwoofer Box - Budget-Friendly Build
Here's a quick ultra budget-friendly car subwoofer box build sporting a couple of 10 inch 300w RMS subwoofers in a double-baffle, double-chamber center L ported enclosure. PROJECT TIMELINE: 00:00 - The 2 pieces Targa X-100-i 10" dual 4 Ohm subwoofers. For more information about the unboxing and thiele-small parameter measuring, watch this video - • Targa X-100-i DVC 4Ω 10" 300w Subwoofer - ... 00:15 - Bass Box Pro 6 calculation, initially wanting to get about 36Hz box tuning. 00:25 - Here's the link to the TinkerCad schematics - https://www.tinkercad.com/things/66uE... 00:35 - MDF woodwork and the whole nine yards starts here. 01:45 - It is easy to cut hole on the baffle first. Roundover router bit to clean the edges and cut a groove for the carpet seam tuck-in. 02:15 - Cut another MDF sheet for the second layer baffle to achieve a flush subwoofer mount design and to make a groove to tuck in the carpet seam. Then glue the double subwoofer box baffles together perfectly. 02:35 - Cut mounting holes on the baffle using a plunge router for a cleaner and faster job. 02:45 - Cut 45 degree chamfers to every internal bracing and port panel sharp edges to promote good air flow. 03:05 - Assemble all cut MDF panels by gluing together. I used my trusty electric nail gun to do all the nailing tasks. For more information about the electric nail gun, watch this video - • Cheap China Made Electric Nail Gun - Test ... 03:40 - You thought that I didn't screw the box down? Of course you do! LOL. Front baffle glued and fastened down with small head wood screws. 04:00 - Trim router to cut a small canal inside the box for the wiring duct to cross to another chamber. 05:30 - Tuck all the carpet seams inside the grooves. I used contact cement in adhering the carpet to the box. Almost professional carpeting job ain't it? 07:10 - Subwoofer sits perfectly fit within the flush mounting hole! Nice. 08:10 - Verifying the actual subwoofer resonance within the box using Dayton Audio DATS v3 impedance tester. 08:30 - So we've got a 34.65Hz actual system tuning with a 20Hz to 60Hz effective bandwidth range of frequency. And that is it! Please let me know what you think about the build and please make sure to hit that subscribe button to get updates specially for the next video which will be the subwoofer bass test! Thank you all for watching and be well.
