The Bothy on the Seashore | The Isle of Islay | Wild Islay Vlog

Proaig Bothy | Isle of Islay Nestled on the wild and windswept southeastern coast of Islay, Proaig Bothy stands as a lonely sentinel against the relentless forces of damp and wind. The perfect location for the first Wild Islay Vlog. Once a farmhouse, now a remote refuge for the bold and the weary, it is a place where the echoes of the past whisper through the crumbling stone walls. Isolated between the inner seas of the coast and the dramatic east Islay hills, it’s also a great location for wildlife watching. Otter, Red Deer, Fallow Deer, Eagles, Adders, and shorebirds can all be seen here, or on route to it. *Wear wellies 🤠 Join Hannah, Hamish, and myself (David) as we make our way from Claggain Bay to this remote coastal bothy.
