Is the Baptism of Jesus Evidence for the Trinity? | Episode 8
In describing the baptism of Jesus, Matthew wrote, “When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, 'This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased'" (Matthew 3:16-17, NKJV). Some have pointed to this passage and the other Gospel accounts of the baptism of Jesus as proof that the Godhead is comprised of three separate persons—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. In this episode, Dr. David K. Bernard shows how these passages confirm a Oneness Pentecostal view of Jesus Christ as God manifested in the flesh (1 Timothy 3:16).
