Can Slate Really Be Etched This Easily?

his project explores using etch paste to create detailed designs on slate coasters. Slate already has a strong natural texture and appearance, so the interesting part of the process was seeing how clearly the etched areas would develop and whether the detail would hold consistently across the surface. Projects like this are a useful reminder that relatively simple techniques can sometimes create surprisingly effective finishes, especially when paired with materials that already have natural character.
