I Visited A 100 Year Old Construction Company… One Thing Didn't Look Right 👀🏗️📹⚠️

🏗️ R G Carter | One of Britain's Oldest Family Construction Companies | Public Observation at Drayton House, Ipswich 👀🏢 Today I visited R G Carter's Ipswich office at Drayton House, Belfry Road, to carry out a peaceful public observation as part of the Scorpion Observes IRL series. Founded in 1921, R G Carter has grown from a small Norfolk builder into one of the UK's longest-established family-owned construction groups. More than 100 years later, the company continues to deliver projects across the East and Midlands, including schools, hospitals, commercial developments, civil engineering, housing, infrastructure and heritage restoration. In this video I take a look at the company's Ipswich office, explain its history, services and regional presence, and observe the site from publicly accessible areas. Unlike many observations, this visit was completely uneventful. Staff carried on with their day, I was left alone, and there were no confrontations or interruptions. The only issue I identified was what appeared to be a lack of CCTV signage at the site. Rather than making assumptions, I contacted the company's Data Protection Officer by email to make them aware. If this is simply an oversight, hopefully it can be reviewed and, if necessary, corrected in line with the UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018 and Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) guidance.
