Puri Police Arrest Broker for Alleged Forced Collection from Devotees Ahead of Rath Yatra

The arrest was made in Puri as part of a special crackdown to ensure a safe and crime-free environment in the pilgrim city. Police informed that during the last 24 hours, 23 anti-social elements were arrested and 8 cases were registered. Authorities also seized three swords, four knives, iron rods, Corex bottles, and more than 750 litres of liquor during the operation. According to the Puri SP, 29 persons have been arrested in 19 cases related to Corex trafficking. Additionally, 623 drunk-driving cases have been registered, while 28 persons were arrested in 47 cases involving the seizure of brown sugar.
