The greatest Christian thinker between Augustine and Thomas Aquinas was undoubtedly St. Anselm, whose penetrating insights left a lasting contribution to the Christian understanding of the nature of God, and the work of Christ. Anselm's deep examination of Christian teaching, however, only tell half the story of this remarkable leader of the Church.
