Gute Gene & viel Talent: Fürtherin ist Deutsche Junioren-Meisterin im Kegeln

Nine pins and a ball. The goal is to clear the lane. Traditionally, Germany is one of the top nations in bowling. The Schnetz family from Fürth has played a significant historical role in this. Their daughter Kira is carrying on the sport, and very successfully at that. The 14-year-old became German Champion four weeks ago. The success was also special for her father, Matthias. Kira was practically born with the talent. She first rolled a bowling ball at the age of five. The Schnetz family has been bowling for five generations. Matthias, a former junior national player himself, coaches Kira. Even in this otherwise calm sport, things can get quite heated during training. After the German Championship, Kira can now relax for a while. Summer training doesn't start again for another four weeks. And then the next challenge awaits the 14-year-old: she's switching to a heavier adult bowling ball. Kira is already the German U14 champion. And with the bowling genes of this family, further successes are sure to follow.
