Ammanford Level Crossing, Carmarthenshire
Welsh name: Rhydaman Official name: Tirydail Level Crossing Date filmed: 26/01/2022 Video filmed at 10:21 Route: Heart of Wales Line Ammanford Station Location: Station Road / Fford-yr-Orsaf, Ammanford Trains featured: Class 153 353 (Transport for Wales) - 0:51 2M08 Swansea ➡ Shrewsbury A locally-monitored level crossing with automatic half barriers found next to Ammanford Railway Station on the Heart of Wales Line, found at the edge of the town of Ammanford at the south western edge of the Baannau Brycheiniog National Park. It's located on a fairly busy road and sees a fair bit of usage from pedestrians, yet the alarm sound is pretty quiet here. This is one of many stations on the Heart of Wales Line, on a journey which should take just over three hours between Llanelli and Craven Arms. Unlike most other half barrier level crossings on this line, the alarms don't silence before the barriers raise, yet silence when the lights turn off. This is because it was renewed differently and in a more complete fashion when the time came to add barriers here. Thanks for watching!
