El día que cayó el Muro de Berlín

The Berlin Wall was a security barrier that formed part of the inter-German border from August 13, 1961, to November 9, 1989. It surrounded and separated the area of Berlin within the economic zone of the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG), West Berlin, from the capital of the German Democratic Republic (GDR), East Berlin, between those years. It is the best-known symbol of the Cold War and the division of Germany. This wall was called the Anti-Fascist Protection Wall (Antifaschistischer Schutzwall) by the GDR, while the media and part of the Western public referred to it as the Wall of Shame (Schandmauer).
