VALENTINE TEXAS

Valentine is a small town of less than 100 residents (est.), located in Jeff Davis County, Texas. The story goes that a railroad crew, in 1882, had finished laying the tracks to the point where a water and fuel depot would be needed on February 14th. So they named the depot Valentine. Valentine, to give you coordinates, is halfway between L.A. and New Orleans, almost exactly 1000 miles from each. Or, if you want something local, halfway between Marfa and Van Horn. Or halfway between Donald Judd & the Chinati Foundation, and Jeff Bezos and his outer space company Blue Origin. And halfway between both National Parks in Texas. Deep in the Heart of West Texas.
