Taj made sure that the originality is well preserved and minimal changes are done so as to maintain the real feel of the property. The palace was built in 1880 by H H Maharaj Jayaji Rao Scindia (Scindia Dynasty of the Marathas) and is located just beside Jai Vilas Palace, the property vouches for this history and royalty which the royal family inherits. The Royal Suites offered by the property come with period furnishings and ornate accessories such as Venetian mirrors, mother-of-pearl mosaics and canopied beds. The jiva spa comes with its own USP and offers royal treatments that originated at the 14th century spa in the magnificent Man Mandir Palace, Gwalior Fort. When it comes to culinary experience then the chef prepares some popular and original Maratha and Nepal royal cuisine dishes. I myself tasted the same and "Bhuteka ka bath" was one dish which should not be missed.
