Detroit City ~ Mel Tillis (1970)
Another fine entry from the #MelTillis catalog. He was not only a talented singer, but he could write them just as well as he could sing them! This was issued on #Vocalion VL 73914 in #1970 under the title "Big N' Country" and was later reissued in Canada on the #MCA subsidiary, #CoralRecords in #1979. You'll hear a rough spot here and there, but overall I think this cleaned up nicely! This is track 4 from the album and written by #DannyDill with help from Mel. I want to say again how much I appreciate those of you who take the time to listen to these great old classics. This is a labor of love for me, something I would have loved to have done in my younger years as a DJ. I'd really appreciate it if you'd consider supporting my work as well: paypal.me/HankfanHankfan. Again, thank you for your kind words and comments-they mean a lot to me. God bless you!
