Dare A250 Storytelling: Outer Banks Voices, Characters and Coastal Memories with Ken Mann

Every place has its historians. On the Outer Banks, many of them are storytellers. Through television and radio, and years of asking people to simply “tell me about that,” Ken Mann has collected stories from watermen, local families, public officials, musicians, visitors, and unforgettable characters who seem to exist only in places like this. This conversation during this storytelling session centers around the stories that reveal the humor, grit, independence, and sense of community that have long defined life on a narrow strip of sand between ocean and sound. This video was produced by CurrentTV during the Dare A250 Faire on April 18, 2026.
