DIY Spot Welder MOSFET Test 🔥
In this video I test 3 different MOSFET board configurations for my DIY supercapacitor spot welder project. Tested boards: IRL40SC228 557A – 12pcs IRL40SC228 557A – 24pcs IRF3713 – 24pcs The result was almost the same on all 3 versions. At this point I think the limitation is not the MOSFET boards, but the supercapacitors I am using. They probably reached their current limit already. Supercapacitors used: 2.85V 700F – 6pcs 2.80V 600F – 6pcs Still experimenting and improving the setup step by step 🙂 Next tests will include: Better gate drivers More capacitor configurations Different busbars and wiring Pulse timing optimization DIY spot welder project in progress ⚡
