Plasser India 09-3X Part 4
1. Preparatory Works Before commissioning, operators must thoroughly check all fluid levels (fuel, hydraulic oil, engine water cooler) and ensure all lube points are lubricated . It is required to verify system pressures, including accumulators for the tamping pressure system (approx. 100 bar), tamping unit squeezing cylinders (approx. 35 bar), and satellite support (approx. 120 bar) . Additionally, all working units and measuring devices—such as the tamping units, satellites, and ballast wipers—must be properly suspended and locked . 2. Engine Starting Protocols To ensure full battery voltage is available for startup, all other power-consuming units should be switched off . In cold temperatures (below 5°C), the gear should be decoupled to make starting easier . The engine will only start if the ZF key-operated switch and the system working switch are both turned off . Once started, the engine must warm up at a moderate rpm for about 5 minutes without any load before use . 3. Travel and Driving Guidelines Before traveling, operators must ensure the pneumatic system pressure is at approx. 7 bar and the brake pressure is at approx. 3.8 bar . Safety dictates that operators use the cabin facing the direction of travel, adapting their speed to track conditions and traveling slower over points or poorly positioned tracks . Crucially, the machine must never travel on gradients without the gear engaged, and the engine must not be switched off before the machine comes to a complete halt . Changing cabins is only permitted when the brakes are fully pulled in . 4. Towing and Long-Term Parking If the machine is being towed (formation travel), all gears must be disengaged, and the ZF final drive must be switched to the OFF position and secured . If the machine needs to be parked for a long period, operators must apply the parking brakes, pull out all main keys (ignition, power shift gearbox, and main battery switch), drain the compressed air containers, lock the cabins, and set up proper railway safety measures like stop signals and brake shoes .
