The scenario simulated a collision between two aircraft on the ground, one of which caught fire. Rescue efforts were carried out by the airport fire department in cooperation with external emergency services. Around 140 volunteer actors took on the roles of crews, passengers, and relatives – including members of the Youth Red Cross, drama students, chaplains, and employees of the federal and state police, customs, and airport. A particular focus was on cooperation with external forces and relevant authorities, the establishment of care and assembly points, and coordination with the airport's crisis management team. In addition to the airport units, the Düsseldorf Fire Department, the Düsseldorf Police Headquarters, the Federal Police, rescue services, the Youth Red Cross, the chaplaincy service, the Airline Operators Committee, and Eurowings as an airline partner participated in the exercise.
