BMW X3 Oil Filter Housing Replacement DIY (2020-2024 BMW G01 X3, G02 X4, M40i, B58TU Engine)

►BMW's modern engines are as powerful, efficient, and reliable as ever, but you'll still have to worry about their oil filter housing. Whether via cracks in the housing or leaky seals, the OFH is likely to develop an oil leak. It's one of the most common spots on any BMW, and one you'll have to fix on this newest generation. The oil filter housing on the B58 engine is partially tucked beneath the intake manifold, so replacing it will require removing the intake manifold. Between that and having to drain the engine coolant and oil, replacing the oil filter housing or its gaskets can be a fairly time-consuming job. However, it'll solve a critical, high-pressure oil leak, protecting your engine's insides and preventing a messy engine. Expect leaks to occur around the 80,000-mile mark, and consider performing some preventive maintenance if it hasn't been done by that mileage.
