Exploring the Hidden Side of Korea’s First “New Town” 🇰🇷 Random Subway Trip #11

In this video, we went on another random subway adventure, and we ended up getting Sujin Station (수진역) on line #8 which is part of Seongnam (성남) in Gyeonggi-do (경기도). Seongnam is part of Korea’s first wave of new towns (신도시) which started all the way back in 1989, and although a lot of Seongnam looks new, this area was on the older side overall, with some incredibly tight alleyways filled with villa stye housing. We found an amazing Chinese restaurant called Uicheongak (의천각), and we were really pleased by its homestyle cooking flavour. Then we continued exploring the neighbourhood and ended up at Daewon Park (대원공원) where they had a clay walking path (황토길) which is mostly used by the seniors here, but we decided to give it a try and we had a blast.
