[Genesis 41:37-57, Korean Revised Version] 37 Pharaoh and all his officials approved of this. 38 Pharaoh said to his officials, “How can we find a man like this, in whom the Spirit of God dwells?” 39 He said to Joseph, “God has shown you all these things, and there is no one as discerning and wise as you. 40 You shall be in charge of my house, and all my people shall obey your commands. I am higher than you only in the throne.” 41 Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I make you governor of all the land of Egypt.” 42 He took off his signet ring and put it on Joseph’s hand, and clothed him in fine linen, and put a gold chain around his neck. 43 He put him in his second chariot, and the people shouted before him, “Bow down!” Pharaoh made him governor of all the land of Egypt. 44 Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I am Pharaoh, and in all the land of Egypt, no one shall move a hand or a foot without your permission.” 45 He Joseph was named Zaphenath-Paneah, and Asenath, the daughter of Potiphera the priest, was given to him as his wife. Joseph went out and inspected all the land of Egypt. 46 Joseph was thirty years old when he stood before Pharaoh, king of Egypt. He left Pharaoh's presence and inspected all the land of Egypt. 47 There were seven years of abundance, and the produce of the land was very great. 48 Joseph gathered the grain from the seven years in the land of Egypt and stored it in every city; he stored the grain from the fields surrounding each city within the city. 49 The stored grain was so great, like the sand of the sea, that they ceased to count it, for its number was endless. 50 Before the famine came, Joseph had two sons, Asenath, the daughter of Potiphera the priest, bore to him. 51 Joseph named his firstborn Manasseh, saying, "God has made me forget all my affliction and all the affairs of my father's house." 52 He named his secondborn Ephraim, saying, "God has made me fruitful in the land of my affliction." And it was Ham. 53 The seven years of abundance in the land of Egypt came to an end. 54 And as Joseph had said, seven years of famine began. There was famine in every country, but there was food in all the land of Egypt. 55 As the whole land of Egypt was starving, the people cried out to Pharaoh for food. Pharaoh said to all the people of Egypt, “Go to Joseph and do as he tells you.” 56 And there was famine throughout the land. So Joseph opened all the storehouses and sold them to the people of Egypt. The famine in the land of Egypt was severe. 57 And people from every country came into Egypt to buy food and came to Joseph, for the famine was severe throughout the whole world.
