NEC 2024 - B2: The Triple Nexus and Evaluation
This session convenes government representatives, United Nations humanitarian, development, and peace agencies, alongside researchers, to share their experiences in conducting nexus evaluations and addressing the complexities of programming in conflict settings. The session aims to exchange insights, approaches, and challenges in evaluating the HDP nexus. Drawing on a broad base of evaluations, studies, and policy experience, the panel highlights key lessons for accelerating the implementation of nexus programming. The panel focuses on five key themes related to the complexities of conflict contexts and opportunities for nexus programming: A. Why is nexus programming crucial for enhancing national capacities and resilience? B. What contextual factors have facilitated the success of nexus programming? C. How can evaluation systems deepen understanding of the interconnectedness of crises and resilience, rather than treating humanitarian, development, and peacebuilding efforts as separate silos? D. How have shared outcomes among agencies improved nexus program evaluations? E. Given the dynamic and unpredictable nature of these contexts, should evaluation systems in the triple nexus prioritize learning and adaptation over accountability and impact measurement?
