The Public Discourse Around Melanie Reflects a Collective Failure of Shadow Integration Hi all, Love Island's back and we're in the villa again baby! 🏝️ The discourse has already, in my opinion, gone to 💩. I know I'm a little late with this but here's my take on the whole Melanie and Beatriz situation. I really believe that the discourse around Melanie is reflective of the fact that the younger generation who's been chronically online for their entire life has collectively failed to integrate their shadow and has a lot of difficulty with a darker-skinned woman behaving in a human way.
