A comparative analysis of the region shows that economies like Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic attract more than $5 billion in investment, while Honduras closed 2025 with only $881 million, much of it from reinvested profits. During the discussion, five factors were identified as hindering the arrival of new investments: corruption, insecurity, political uncertainty, low budget execution, and problems in the energy system. It was also highlighted that Honduras has one of the lowest levels of foreign investment per square kilometer compared to other countries in the region.
