CN's 7300 series 1200hp SW1200RMs

CN rebuilt 18 SW1200RSs to SW1200RMs in 1987 at its Pointe St. Charles shops in Montreal. Three of these are still in use by CN. Nine of these locomotives are seen in this video taken in the Halifax are in the late 1990s. Usually they worked with a second locomotive - often an unrebuilt SW1200RS (note that the spark arrestors have been removed on the rebuilt units) In one case the SW1200RM worked with a GMD-1 which clearly shows the size difference even though both units are 1200hp!
