Sherline Lathe C Package

Watch as I share the first machine tool needed for our Kozo ¾” scale Pennsylvania A-3 Switcher 0-4-0 steam engine make. While modern CNC milling centers are amazing for the maker and home shop machinist, there are some things you simply cannot do without a Lathe. Believe it or not, but the Lathe is known as the mother of all machine tools, for this piece of equipment led to the development of many other machine tools such as the vertical and horizontal milling machines. With proper fixturing, layout, and calculations the Lathe can do it all. It is a keystone piece of equipment in any machine shop whether for commercial or home use. In this video I will be sharing the Sherline Lathe “C Package”. I chose this particular Lathe for our project because it had many features I felt would be beneficial for our build; the Kozo ¾” scale Pennsylvania A-3 Switcher 0-4-0 steam engine.
