I Was Watching The Wrong Thing | Wild Camping Ireland

I climbed onto the tors of Hen Mountain to watch a strange bank of cloud rolling across the Mournes. Then I realised I was watching the wrong thing. 📍 Hen Mountain, Mourne Mountains, Northern Ireland In this episode of Walkwatchers, a small break in the weather gave me an unexpected opportunity to head into the mountains for a solo wild camp. After pitching the tent high on Hen Mountain and camp cooking a mountain feast of Honey-Soy Chicken, I spent the evening exploring the tors, watching wildlife and taking in views across the Mournes. What caught my attention wasn't the sunset. It was a huge bank of cloud tumbling its way down the valley towards the mountain. I scrambled down from the tors expecting to watch Hen disappear into the cloud... ...but the cloud vanished. And then the sky did something I wasn't expecting. ⛰️ Route: Hen Mountain, Mourne Mountains 🏕️ Camp Meal: Honey-Soy Chicken 📍 Location: Hen Mountain, Mourne Mountains, Northern Ireland If you enjoy wild camping Ireland, hiking Ireland, mountain landscapes, wildlife and learning to read the landscape around you, you're in the right place. 🔔 Subscribe for more wild camping Ireland and hiking in the Mourne Mountains. #WildCampingIreland #MourneMountains #HikingIreland
