Led by Simon Townsend and his expert restoration team, this 1160-horsepower Sulzer Type 2 diesel locomotive has been proudly and faultlessly operated from the summer of 2025 on diesel running days. Filmed at the Gloucestershire and Warwickshire Steam Railway on the Pink Timetable, this production captures 26043 in a setting that perfectly reflects her era. With multi camera viewpoints and picture in picture viewing, the sudden thrash surges from the powerful Sulzer engine, shatters the tranquillity. Built in 1959 and 66 years old at the time of filming, the sights and sounds of this pioneer diesel locomotive, evoke a powerful sense of the close of steam into the diesel 60’s.
