In this video, I show how I prepared my telescope mirror for silver plating and how I prepared a silvering solution from various reagents. Then I showed the silvering process itself. I didn't use nitric acid to clean the surface, as I don't see the point in doing so when silvering without a protective layer. If it were a durable aluminum coating with protection, then of course I would have treated it with nitric acid. So, to spite all the haters, I did it without nitric acid, and the result was very good 😘👍
