This is my way of making sweet ripe plantains... I love this recipe, and ever since I was a little girl, I always loved it when my grandmother cooked it. Now, as an adult, I cook it all the time... It's not my absolute favorite food, but it's definitely on my list of top 10 favorites. For this recipe you will need: 3 ripe plantains 1 piloncillo (Mexican brown sugar cone) 1 cinnamon stick 1 1/2 teaspoons whole cloves 1 to 1 1/2 cups of water (depending on the plantains) 4 tablespoons brown sugar 4 tablespoons white sugar 1/2 teaspoon salt Taste to see if it's to your liking and if it needs more sweetness, add a little more sugar.
