Mac McAnally was chosen to receive the ACM Poet's Award. Mac didn't just write his own music; he had his songs recorded by notable artists such as Jimmy Buffett, who later became a close friend of Mac's, as well as Sawyer Brown, Kenny Chesney, Alabama, Shenandoah, and others.
