Webinar: Focused Ultrasound and Sonodynamic Therapy (2023)
The Focused Ultrasound Foundation and National Brain Tumor Society sponsored a joint webinar on sonodynamic therapy (SDT) for brain tumors. SDT is an emerging, noninvasive cancer treatment using focused ultrasound to activate agents that selectively accumulate in tumor cells and cause cell death. This session aims to provide an insight into the current state of SDT, encompassing an overview of both preclinical laboratory results and current clinical trials. Panelists include Francesco Prada, MD, and Vijay Agarwal, MD, two neurosurgery experts who are spearheading the transition of sonodynamic therapy research from the lab to patient care.
