DIY Jack Stand Adapter protects your Pinch Welds!

EASY DIY Jack Stand Adapters! Your car deserves them. Easy to make. Car Restoration. Lifting up your car can damage its pinch weld seams (aka Jacking Points behind the side skirts) I regularly lift my car with a trolley jack and set it down on 4 jack stands which is especially handy when you are bleeding all the brakes with all wheels removed. Using Jack stands however can damage the pinch welds but fortunately I have developed a fix to protect your precious car. I use this on my Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI 6.5 Tommi Makinen Edition CP9A but it can work on many cars that have a similar Pinch Weld arrangement. Subaru STI and Foresters also have fragile pinch welds. I've seen Evo 1 and Evo 6 VI race cars with totally destroyed pinch welds. If you have done a restoration on your car you have probably repaired damaged pinch welds so now is the time to make sure they are not damaged again. "Jack stand adapters" are necessary to protect the pinch weld seam on Evo VII, VIII and IX too. Evolution 7 8 9 CT9A and CT9W. Some people use a bit of microfibre towel over their jack stands which might reduce scratching the paint but will not give you the protection you need. You might consider buying or fabricating a set of Jack Stand Adapters too. Camera operators on this video were Roger Price, Dominic Flanagan and myself.
