Carving a lute rose
The lute has an intricately carved decoration on its soundboard called the rose. The pattern, often based on a geometric design, is carefully carved by hand by the lute maker. This video is one of a series created with videographer, Gavin Turnball, for use in our 'Discovery Drawers' in the Wolfson Gallery at St Cecilia's Hall.
