In this video we'll do an electronics service, repair and modification on a rarely seen amp from 1959 that is remarkably similar to the tweed Fender Tremolux of the day. This amp was badged as "Guild Masteramp" Model 66-J originally, but who really made it? We'll explore the history of the amp and modify it to add some modern features like effects loop and cascaded gain stage that expand the tonal range and usefulness for live and recording. Was this amp made by Multivox amps in New York or Ampeg of New Jersey?
