It is physiological convention to chart the field as seen by the individual himself place the chart in front of your eye so that 1)temporal field is on outer side 2)blind spot is in temporal field in lower quadrant. Physiological blind spot corresponds with the optic dise which is the region where the optic nerve leaves and the blood vessels enter the eye.The optic dise is 1.5mm in diameter and is located 3mm medial to and slightly above the posterior pole of the eye.As there are no rods or cones in the optic dise,any image falling on it is not visible.
