11. 2D Platformer in Unity: Creating Animations
Welcome to Part 11 of our 2D platformer series! We have a giant level and a working camera, but right now, our character slides around like a frozen statue and jumps like they are on the moon. Today, we are fixing our game feel by tweaking Unity's Gravity Scale to make our jumping much more responsive. Then, we are opening the Animation window to finally bring our character to life by slicing up our sprites into Idle, Run, and Jump keyframe sequences. In this video, you will learn: How to improve game feel by adjusting Rigidbody2D Gravity Scale and Jump Force. How to open and navigate the Unity Animation window. How to create an Animator component and generate .anim clips. How to build keyframe animations for Idle, Run, and Jump states.
