From Season 9 Episode 6: The Gift of Life Karen goes with Laura to shop in a children’s clothes store where Laura picks out many clothes for Meg on her future birthdays. Laura admits to Karen that she’s dying and begs her not to get upset and help her with Meg. Greg calls a doctor and goes through Laura’s jewelry box with jewels that Laura is planning to give to Karen, Meg, and Jason after she’s gone.
