Mt. Shasta Summit Trip - May 17/18 2026 #DooleyMountaineering
Mt. Shasta summit trip on May 17 & 18th 2026. Made it to Helen Lake on day one. Surprised to see that no one else was camping overnight on the 17th besides us. Single digit temps and high winds all night. The winds forced a late 7:30 AM start for the summit. Luckily the wind subsided and the conditions were great on the 18th all the way to the summit. Almost no wind at the summit. Good conditions for glissading on the way down from Red Banks to Helen Lake. Great trip with my two sons. Unforgettable memories. #DooleyMountaineering
